Email bodies and attachments are not stored in the database. Metadata, such as the sender, subject and decisions, is retained for review.
You control access
Mailbox credentials are encrypted on the server. The workspace supports two-factor authentication, session management and organisation roles. External AI analysis is optional and requires your organisation’s consent.

Does AlpenShield replace my spam filter?
AlpenShield complements your existing protection by identifying unsolicited sales emails. Keep your provider’s spam, phishing and malware protection enabled.
What happens in Monitor mode?
AlpenShield analyses newly synced messages and shows its suggested decisions. It does not move any messages automatically. Review the results before choosing an active sorting mode.
Can a message be sorted incorrectly?
Yes. Start in Monitor mode, correct decisions and allow useful senders. You can request that a sorted message be restored; the result depends on its availability in your mailbox and the connector’s permissions.
Are my emails sent to an AI service?
External AI is optional and requires activation and consent from your organisation. If enabled, a reduced portion of content may be sent to the configured provider. The first layer of analysis works without sending that content.
Why does my mailbox need administrator setup?
Connect your account from Mailboxes, then authorise access with your provider. Depending on your company’s rules, an administrator may need to consent. You do not need to create an application or an OAuth key.
Are messages deleted automatically?
No. Sorting uses a dedicated folder or label, and messages stay in your mailbox. AlpenShield does not automatically delete emails.
